Good-bye 2023. Hello 2024.

Before I set my goals for the new year, I like to reflect on my wins and favorite moments from the last year. It’s a great way to gain perspective and remind myself of what matters most in my life as we head into a brand new year.

Here’s a quick writing-related review of 2023:

  • I published one book. (Heart Seeking)
  • I tweaked my ideal writing process and productivity routine.
  • I focused on drafting without editing.
  • I commissioned the covers for Books 4-6.
  • I wrote the first draft for Book 4.

My favorite lifestyle moments from 2023:

  • Family camping trips (about once a month!)
  • Paddle-boarding and kayaking
  • Nature walks and hiking
  • Starting my first garden
  • Playing board games
  • A blessed year of homeschooling
  • Starting our chicken flock

2023 held a lot of wonderful moments, but I also have to reflect on the biggest challenge of the year: the tragic and unexpected loss of my father-in-law. He was both a beloved family member and a business partner, someone we saw every single day. He was my husband’s best friend and his loss has been staggering for our family. We’ve had to navigate not only through grief, but significant adjustments to our family-owned business. This last year was really difficult for our family, and that put my writing focus on the back-burner for several months. We are healing and moving forward one step at a time, but because of this drastic life change, my writing goals are looking a little different as we head into the new year.

My plans for 2024 (which could change at any time):

  • Write one book. (Heart Awakening)
  • Post regularly on my blog.
  • Take a summer trip to June Lake.
  • Grow a garden.
  • Expand our chicken flock.
  • Rock the homeschool life.
  • Heal.
  • And most of all, to live a life filled with faith, grace and purpose.

Thank you all so much for supporting my books and following along with my adventures! I hope 2024 will bring you love, joy and peace and may you remember to live with faith, to live your purpose, and to live life to the fullest.

Wishing you the best,

Lindsay
